The most beautiful models rely on glamour retouching to create the illusion of perfection, not because of vanity, but because even the most attractive people are not flawless; yet that is what is expected of them. Even the rest of us would prefer not to see ourselves with blemishes, or other distractions such as a "bad hair day" can bring. Those are temporary things that shouldn't ruin an otherwise nice picture.
